The 7 Gallon Brew Bucket
Before the holidays I saw an add in a brewing magazine for a new company “SS Brewing Technologies” with an outstanding offer for their new Brew Bucket. The Brew Bucket is a 7 Gallon stainless steel brewing bucket with a conical bottom and a ball valve for only $175. It has many of the features you want from a conical at a reasonable price. I went to the website and found out everyone else beat me to it. I ended up on the wait list and eventually was selected in their lottery for a Brew Bucket. A few kind words go a long way and I believe that helped. I love the way that SS Brewing Technologies handled their supply and demand problems and provide regular updates. I will do business with them again and have.
I brew a Citra Pale Ale last weekend and it is sitting in the Brew Bucket fermenting. I love how easy it is to take samples, check the gravity, and dry-hopped the beer with an 1 oz of Citra. It also should be real easy to clean up after kegging. I always dreaded getting the hops back out of the glass or plastic fermenters. I’m already impressed with the company and the quality of the Brew Bucket. Let’s hope they bring out a series of brew kettles.
The 7 Gallon Chronical Fermenter
I also added my name to the wait list for their 7 Gallon Chronical Fermenter $395 and was notified just after Christmas that I was selected for one. The Chronical is a full blown 7+ gallon conical fermenter with two valves, Tri-clover fittings, and a thermowell. It also can be pressurized up to 5 psi for moving beer. I’m going to use it for my next brew, which will be a Russian River Brewing Pliny the Elder IIPA clone attempt. Should be a great first beer to break it in with.
Check out these conical fermenters at https://www.ssbrewtech.com/collections/all. The 7 Gallon Chronical fermenter as they call it is well built and has features that normally only come in fermenters that are two to three times the price.
